Our independent voice
Bixby Knolls Commons is a place to share what’s happening, learn from one another, and have honest conversations about our neighborhood. Across our website, newsletters, social media, and other communications, we share information, stories, ideas, and opinions to help neighbors feel informed, connected, and more able to take part.
Our independent voice is shaped by the neighbors we listen to and the community we serve. We aim to reflect the neighborhood’s experiences, concerns, and hopes while making room for different perspectives and representing them fairly. No neighborhood speaks with one voice, and what we publish should not be taken as agreement from every neighbor. You don’t have to share every view expressed here to belong to the Commons.
Some of what we share is factual reporting or information from public sources. Some is analysis, commentary, personal experience, or humor. We aim to make those differences clear and present factual information accurately, to the best of our knowledge and based on what is available when we publish. Information can change, and public records or personal accounts may be incomplete. Sharing an account does not necessarily mean we have independently verified every detail.
Talking about our community sometimes means asking hard questions or criticizing a policy, decision, business, institution, or public official. There is room for that here. Supporting our neighborhood doesn’t mean agreeing with everything that happens in it. Honest criticism, independent expression, and the freedom to disagree are part of a healthy community.
Fairness matters too. We aim to represent people’s words and experiences honestly, include important context, and distinguish what is known from what is alleged, interpreted, or still uncertain. A contributor’s views are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the Commons or other neighbors.
If we get a fact wrong or miss something important, please tell us. A link and a little explanation are helpful. We welcome corrections, additional context, and good-faith disagreement. We will review factual concerns and make appropriate corrections. Disagreement alone, however, does not make an opinion a factual error.
We won’t always see things the same way. We can still listen, ask questions, and understand our neighborhood better, together.
